The last few weeks have brought us all our fair share of stress and difficulties – so we wanted to take you away from all of that for a few minutes and introduce you to our new kids on the block– Bell Peppers!
With some spare greenhouse space not set up for lettuce, we decided to grow our first crop of bell peppers, and they have been a huge success! These rich in colour and full of shine vegetables can add a whole heap of value to your mealtimes – and to your health. Bursting with Vitamins A and C, Potassium, Fibre and Folate, these low calorie bundles of goodness can help reduce your risk of many chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
Enjoy them raw chopped in salads, enjoy them in stir frys or stuff them with your favourite filling and bake. They are supremely versatile with a great taste which becomes sweeter as they change colour.
We currently have green bell peppers going into Keells across Colombo, and soon we will have a traffic light selection of red, green and yellow – adding to your nutrition and taste buds!
